This is a picture I worked on with and for one of the biggest ad agencys in Iceland HVITA HUSID [link] for the company ZO-ON [link] who is a clothing company specialising in outdoor clothing. Remember the name ZO-ON ;)

The ads are made with Icelandic folklore in mind. This on is about:

The Deacon of Myrka

This is a popular Icelandic tale of a love beyond the grave. A deacon fell in love with a young girl by the name of Gudrun (Gud meaning God and run meaning (old run stones). He invited her to come to Myrka for the Christmas festivities, and promised to come for her on Christmas Eve. But the night he came for her, he perished in a river. His body was found the next day, and was laid to rest. Unbeknownst to Gudrun, she was preparing for her departure for Myrka. The night came, and there was a knock upon her door. It was her dead lover to come for her. They rode into the night coming to the place where he was laid to rest. He said:
“The moon is gliding across the sky,

Death is riding;
can’t you see a white spot
in the back of my head,
Garun, Garun?”
(he says Garun becasue he cant say God)

When Garun hears this, she ran to the church and rang the bells. The deacon grabbed for her, only managing to grasp her cape and take it with him into his grave. For many nights his spirit tormented Garun, until a man who was skilled in sorcery was able to commit the man back to his earthly home.

I thought the picture was absolutely beautiful in every way. Feet up or down-regardless. I loved the
air coming from the nostrils of the horse also.
The man and woman were really so romantic on the
horse. I am a romantic so it was awesome!!

Vá þetta er svo flott.. Þegar ég sá þetta fyrst í sjónvarpinu þá var ég alveg " hver gerði þetta..? "

Datt aldrei í hug að ég myndi rekast á þetta hérna á deivantart.. Lol :D


En allavega frábær mynd og gaman að geta sagt sína skoðun á hana hérna! :)

Takk kærlega fyrir....þetta er búið að vera svakalega skemmtileg herferð fyrir Zo-on. Þetta sem þú sást í sjónvarpinu vann ég útfrá blaðaauglýsingunni sem hefur verið að birtast núna af og til.

I love the tale behind this! Awesome job. You have inspire me to do some work which I will upload soon. I just haven't had the time to do so....too busy! But I will as soon as I get all the credits in order, again thanks for the inspiration.
